Superman & Lois to end with season 4 on The CW
The CW confirms Superman & Lois will end with its upcoming fourth season of ten episodes, closing the network's long run of DC series.
On 2 November 2023, fans of Superman & Lois learned that the family drama’s next season would be its last. The CW confirmed the show would end with season 4, a ten-episode run.
What we know
The series had been renewed in June 2023, but with a shorter order and a tighter budget. As part of the savings, several regular cast members from season 3 would not return as regulars. The confirmation that season 4 would be the final one gave the writers the chance to plan a proper ending rather than leave the Kents on a cliffhanger.
Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch had led the show since 2021 as a Clark and Lois balancing super-heroics with raising twin sons in Smallville. Its ending also marked the close of The CW’s long era of DC series that began with Arrow in 2012.
Why it matters
Superman & Lois won a loyal following for its grounded take on Superman as a husband and dad, and many fans rate Hoechlin among the best screen Supermen. The final season premiered on 7 October 2024. See how Hoechlin and Tulloch fit into the long line of Superman actors and Lois Lane actresses.
