Superman in the UK: events and dates for 2026–27

UK dates for Superman fans in 2026–27: Thought Bubble, MCM London and Birmingham, LFCC's return, Free Comic Book Day and the Man of Tomorrow UK release.

The short answer

The next big UK comics event is the Thought Bubble convention in Harrogate on 14–15 November 2026. In 2027, MCM Comic Con visits London on 28–30 May and 22–24 October and Birmingham on 30 July–1 August, and London Film and Comic Con returns to Olympia on 14–15 August. Man of Tomorrow opens in the US on 9 July 2027; its UK date hasn't been announced.

Here’s where to celebrate Superman in the UK over the next year: comic conventions, Free Comic Book Day and the next film. We list only dates the organisers have confirmed, and mark everything else TBC. Events do move (MCM Birmingham switched from November to August in 2026, and LFCC skipped 2026), so check the organiser’s site before you book.

Checked on 6 November 2026.

Man of Tomorrow: the UK date

Man of Tomorrow opens in the US on 9 July 2027, and France gets it on 7 July. Warner Bros. UK hasn’t announced a UK date. We’ll update this page, and our Man of Tomorrow guide, as soon as it does.

Comic conventions

  • Thought Bubble (Harrogate) is the UK’s big comics-first festival, now in its 20th year. Guests haven’t been checked for this page.
  • MCM Comic Con (London and Birmingham) is the largest general fan convention, with cosplay, merchandise and screen guests. Hayden Christensen is a confirmed guest for May 2027, though not a Superman one. For costume ideas, see Superman’s costume history.
  • London Film and Comic Con (Olympia) is known for actor signings. It returns in August 2027 after a year off; guests are TBC.

We’ll only name Superman guests once an organiser confirms them.

Free Comic Book Day

On Free Comic Book Day, comic shops give away specially printed comics. DC usually releases a free sampler, but the 2027 line-up hasn’t been revealed yet. For new comics each week, see our Superman release calendar.

Exhibitions and screenings

No Superman exhibition or special screening has been announced in the UK for this period. Recent examples show what to look out for: Christopher Reeve’s Superman IV costume went on display at the Young V&A in London in 2024, and Superman: The Movie returned to UK cinemas for its 45th anniversary from 7 April 2023. For more of Superman’s British connections, see Superman and Britain.

Watching Superman at home

Superman (2025) streams in the UK on HBO Max, NOW Cinema and Sky Go (as of 6 November 2026): see our Superman (2025) guide. It hasn’t had a free-to-air TV date yet.

When is Free Comic Book Day 2027?

Free Comic Book Day is always the first Saturday in May, which in 2027 is 1 May. Several calendars list that date, but we haven't confirmed it on the official site yet, so treat it as to be confirmed. UK comic shops usually take part.
