KAL-EL

About

Hi, I'm Jason.

A lifelong Superman fan and digital designer in Wiltshire. Kal-El.co.uk is my Superman fan site, now with a daily newsdesk.

Who's behind the site

Kal-El.co.uk started as a home for my own Superman artwork, and it has grown into a full fan site. By day I work in digital design. The rest of the time I'm usually thinking about the Last Son of Krypton: the films, the comics, the suits and the endless what-ifs.

Elseworld Superman

On Instagram I run @elseworld_superman, where I share alternate-universe takes on Superman: new suits, fan-casts, mash-ups and phone wallpapers. The pieces are made with AI image tools (DALL·E, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion) and finished in Photoshop and Lightroom.

The big pictures on the site's other pages (the suns, the kryptonite, the X-ray wall and the rest) are AI-generated with Google Gemini for Kal-El.co.uk. They show no people and no DC characters or logos, and every one is listed on our image credits page.

Fortress of Pops

I also make custom Pop vinyl figures under @fortressofpops. If you'd like one made, send me a message on Instagram.

How the newsdesk works

Every day the site checks reputable entertainment and comics outlets plus official DC announcements, then publishes short news summaries in its own words. Every story links to the original reporting, so the outlets that broke it get the credit. The daily round-ups are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, then checked against the cited sources. A few rules:

  • We never copy articles. We summarise, quote sparingly and always link the source.
  • Rumours are labelled as rumours, and we name who is reporting them.
  • Dates, cast and release details come from official announcements or established trade press.
  • When something changes, we update the story and show the update date.
  • Facts must be confirmed by an official source (DC, Warner Bros., James Gunn) or established trade press such as Variety, Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter. Fan and comics sites are leads to check, not proof.
  • Stories are bylined "Kal-El.co.uk newsdesk". When I've personally read a story before or after it went up, it also says "Reviewed by Jason".
  • Story pictures are illustrations we made with AI (Google Gemini), never photos of real events and never studio artwork. Each one is labelled.
  • I own and run the site, and I'm responsible for what it publishes. Corrections go to hello@kal-el.co.uk or through the contact form.
