Superman's official trailer puts Clark in the hot seat with Lois

The full trailer for James Gunn's Superman arrives two months before release, featuring a tense interview between Clark and Rachel Brosnahan's Lois.

On 14 May 2025, with under two months to go, Warner Bros. released the full trailer for James Gunn’s Superman, and it leaned into one of the most important relationships in the mythos.

What we know

The centrepiece was a scene in which Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane interviews Superman, pressing him on his actions abroad. It hinted at the film’s central tension: a hero whose kindness and good intentions are questioned by the public, with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor waiting to exploit every doubt.

The trailer also offered more of the colourful world Gunn had promised: giant monsters, the Justice Gang and Krypto. It followed December’s record-breaking teaser and came ahead of a final trailer in June, keeping the July release date of 11 July 2025.

Why it matters

Fans especially enjoyed the Clark and Lois dynamic, and it became one of the most praised parts of the finished film. Looking back, the trailer also set up the film’s question of whether Superman can be trusted.
